Trouble = Daughter Like Father
Michael is notoriously known for telling some pretty interesting and make believe stories..Ask him about the time Robert E. Lee shot him in his leg during the Civil War...Ask him about meeting "Uncle Tom" from the book Uncle Tom's Cabin and he will tell you all about it. Well at the age of 22 months little Allyson apparently thinks she can tell you stories as well. After all her father tells her crazy stories all the time..For my anniversary present Michael gave me a 7 week old puppy whom we have named Tucker..Well I took Tucker outside today while Allyson remained in her Daddy's chair with her lunch and watching Sid the Science Kid (eating in front was a reward for picking up her toys in the living room)I took Tucker outside..Only to come back to find Allyson still in her Daddy's chair but something was different, there was white paste on her face that had nothing to do with the contents of her lunch. She apparently fished out of the trash an empty diaper rash tube and managed to get some out and smeared all over her face.
Me: Whats on your face Ally?
Allyson:Shook her head no and then said no..
Me: What is that stuff on your cheek?
Allyson: No and then she shook her head.
Me: Where is the tube of medicine for your bottom?
Allyson:"No Daddy it" while looking at me mischievously and pointed to her cheek and smiled..
She was trying to throw Michael under the bus and he wasn't even home.
Me: Did Allyson put something on her cheek?
Allyson: Daddy and pointed to her cheek.. this time giving me a full on grin with eyes squinting of happiness...She then decided she didn't want lunch and said night night for nap...got down and headed to the kitchen to put her lunch in the fridge.....

Its a World of Words...
On June 4, I had surgery on my foot. I'm off from work for several weeks. I have to use a scooter to get around, as I cant put any weight on right foot for 6 weeks. Today she started pushing a stroller all over the house where ever she needed to go, to be like mom. It was really cute to see her do this.
It seems Allyson, is picking up a new word or two each day. She asks for bop-bop every day. Bop-bop is really supposed be "papa", which is Allyson's Great Grandpa. Sometimes her grandpas are called bop-bop as well. She fell and skinned hr knee this past weekend, so we know boo boo. If you ask her to find her booboo, she will find it and then say boo boo. She ran into the curved wall at Grandma and Grandpa Hymer's house and asked what it was. She now knows what a wall is and can say wall and she will point to a wall. Aunt Melissa's dogs name is "dic", for Dixie. The other day she ran around chasing Dixie, yelling dic and patting her leg trying to get the dog to come to her. It was really cute. We are trying to say Mel for Melissa, but seams to be coming out as "Mol". She is in love with song at the end of Micky Mouse Clubhouse, which is known as the "hot dog song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wePMYM4av6Q
"Daw Duck" is what she asks for when she sees a computer. We will post a video of her saying her new words for you this weekend.

A little Artist in the Family
Well for mothers day we as parents decided we would allow some craziness for Allyson. While out and about, we as parents thought of allowing Allyson to paint. So off to gather the supplies we did. Little did we know how our project would end....
Here is the Artist, determining, what paint color she should use, and in what order...
The color of choice, was green.
Looks like fun!
They loved it!
The end result.....
A very unhappy, and upset artist that her request of "more, more" to paint, was being denied. So a temper tantrum ensued. Needless to say a much needed bath followed this event.

A Dogs Best Friend
Lately every night our house is filled with Allyson's screaming and Butters barking. Butters does not love all the attention of hugs and kisses, though he will sometimes initiate playing with Allyson. Sometimes they play together with dog toys. He will bring the toy to her and drop it near by her reach and as they play Allyson giggles and screams with excitement. Lately however they have been playing chase. You see Allyson whips out her stroller and follows him around with it. He barks. She screams. This could easily go on for twenty minutes if not longer. She loves playing this game and often is played two or three times a day and often right before bed time. At the end of the day when we go through our night time rituals we wave night-night to daddy and then butters. Sometimes if we forget butters, she is looking around in the hallway for him if he hasn't followed us to her room, to make sure he doesn't feel left out of the game.

odds and ends with an update
Allyson keeps us on our toes and is into everything and that includes starting to be a little bit naughty. She has mastered how to travel up the stairs. She will stand at our kitchen gate and whine because she wants to play on the stairs. She has even thrown a tantrum or two on the floor by the gate because she didn't get her way of going where she wants to. When she does this she throws her head on the ground quite hard and currently is sporting a tantrum bruise on her forehead. She is becoming quite testy in what we ask her not to do . We are figuring out the world of discipline with her. I'm trying to find my Love and Logic voice but its not always on my mind when something happens, I am sure she will let me get my practice in though.
She is quite the climber as of late. She will climb from one piece of furniture to another, climb up and and stand on top of her chairs, the couch, her recliner and daddy's recliner as well..oh did i mention we are trying to figure out the coffee table as well and how to climb on it when she thinks no one is watching her. This Saturday we took her early in the morning to our mall's play area thinking wonderful we can take her somewhere where its okay to climb on top of things...She didn't climb a thing....she crawled all over the place, walked around the toys, played chase with another older child but she didn't climb a thing. She wasn't interested in their stairs nor the slide.
Allyson is quite the star at church. Every Sunday when we walk in Michael and I are suddenly surrounded by young children as they are all very interested in Allyson and they love that she can play with them and that she will "talk" to them. Several of them will often ask if they can hold her, which Allyson very kindly allows them to do.
Allyson current list of words are
buh = butters , Yes, Daddy, wazit = whats that, numma-numma = food, or hungry
la-la=elmos world song, ahhh=awe for when she gives you hug, momma (but only if shes mad does she say it) ee=peek
She will play peek-a-boo or peek a couple of different ways, and hide and go seek, she will hide butters toys from him by laying on top of them and teasing him by showing it really quick and then hiding it. She now gives you love pats when you hold her at night time by gently patting your shoulder and when she gets up in the morning. We rarely get head buts anymore :( If you ask her where her big toes is she will find it for you. She knows what "sit on your bottom", "go bye-bye" and when we say lets go put on your coat, she will sometimes run to the closet door to get her coat, she also knows that when we come home to go stand by the closet door to wait to take off her coat. She helps get dressed by putting her arms in her shirts.
Sorry for the delay in pictures that I promised in the last entry. After being back from Kansas within two days our household manged to get sick for over a week and then we passed it on to both my side and Michel's side of the family. It was miserable. Allyson woke up sick as we were getting ready to leave for daycare on monday. An hour after she had gone to bed both Michael and I were sick. The following day he and I both felt awful and Melissa came up to take care of Allyson for us who was still sick as well. Michael and i still felt ill so we let Melissa take Allyson to Kalamazoo for the night to be with Grandma Martha and the next day Melissa watched her my mom brought her home. Not long after my mom and Allyson arrived did we get a call from Melissa saying that she was now on her way home from work and that she was sick! Thursday Allyson will still ill and I didn't work as I had that day off and it was pretty clear Allyson wasn't over the hump so we made plans for her to go to Kalamazoo on Friday. She was originally going to be with my mom (we figured that she must have been a safe bet as she hadnt gotten this bug yet and we didnt want to infect both sides at all if possible) however she called at 5:30 am to tell us she had been ill all night, so off to Grandma Tammy's she went for the day. Allyson was a lot better however she passed on those nasty germs to Grandpa Tanksley who became sick over that weekend.
I'm still waiting on pictures of Allyson with her third cousins taken by others so hopefully they will email them soon, so until then these shall do.

A Trip to Kansas
Allyson made her very first trip to Kansas this past week. On New Years eve we left at 6:30am and drove to Topeka and made very good time, 12 and half hours with the time change. Allyson was a super traveler. She slept for maybe two hours of the whole trip down. We arrived at 8:00checked into our hotel and went to Olive Garden for dinner. Despite how tired and cranky she was from a long day of sitting she did well and flirted with the buss boy who was clearing off the table next to ours, as we prepared to leave. We arrived back at the hotel by 9 and we all went to bed. Everyone was exhausted. The following day we went to my cousin Stephanie's home and visited all day long. I had long hopes Allyson would nap and stay on schedule. However that just wasn't the case at all. She feared she would miss too much crying to hysterics. She wasn't even interestested in eating for much of the day. She wanted to play with her 3rd cousins Pike, who recently turned two and Campbell and Emma who are both 4. She had fun trying to play chase though she was always the one behind. She even rolled a ball back and forth with Pike and his daddy. Day two it was determined to leave early apparently on part due to the lack of hotel service we had and part due to the fact people were leaving town that day. So after more visiting we hit up the Kansas Sampler again to grab some gear. During which most of the time Allyson slept though while I carried her around the store for about 20 minutes. She never did fall back asleep until 7:30 during the drive back home. We were able to stop in Lawrence though at the University of Kansas. We had to get a picture of Allyson with the best mascot in the world!
While there Allyson kept calling Grandpa Hymer, daddy which was interesting so we worked on trying to say Grandpa, but we at least have the paaw part down! I was just glad she didn't say daddy when the weird stranger at the quick trip approached my dad and I and asked (my dad) how old his daughter was! I about died of horror with that one as he inferred Allyson to be his daughter. Everywhere we went in Kansas someone stoped to talk to us about Allyson. She was loved by strangers. We would have people come and talk to us while we tried to eat a meal.
Allyson got to enjoy her first kid meal from no place other than a Sonic, after all its not a trip to Kansas with out many stops at sonic along the way. She loved her waky pack food! Glad we have one nearby now and we dont have to travel out of state to get good food. :)
Pictures to come shortly.
